Digital Art Style Self-Portrait

Op Art/ Pop Art Portrait

I decided to make my portrait the way it is to show that it isn't too serious. Its silly and a little weird which I would say is pretty reminiscent of me. I saw my picture and looked at my face, noticing the shape I turned it into a sideways fish. I coloured my hair and torso two different shades of blue so that they would pop out from the background. I added the seaweed and bubbles to make it more obvious. I am very satisfied with my work, it is quite to my liking.

Still Life Drawing

First I drew the contour of the skull and the mannequin,  I then shaded the inside of the objects. Shading the background came next and after I finished that I shaded the ground (those little lines by the skull). I finished with shading the outside of the objects.

The composition of the piece is an L composition. It goes down the mannequin and turns at the skull. It continues with the wrinkles on the ground and the background. I kept it quite minimalistic.

Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO

ISO
The higher ISO on the right makes the image more grainy,
while the lower makes it less.
Shutter Speed
With a higher shutter speed you can see more of a still image,
on the right with the lower shutter speed you can see more of the movement of the subject.
Aperture
the higher the aperture the smaller the range of the camera making the background blurry,
with a lower aperture you can see much farther back

Surrealism Art

“Nature finds a way” is the meaning behind my artwork. No matter if its flying whales with trees growing out of their heads or making dinosaurs able to breed even though their all female (Jurassic park reference).  I feel like my surrealist art represents this meaning because living things will continue to evolve and find ways to improve, one day whales are swimming along in the ocean, the next their flying in the air (Which to me makes a lot of sense due to the fact that they breathe oxygen). Today trees grow in the earth, tomorrow they grow on living creatures (that one makes a lot less sense).

I took the photos of the background and the trees, I got the whales from the Internet. I drew a few sketches and figured out what I wanted to do. Then I went on Photoshop and put it all together. I added the shadows by copying the whales, squishing them and changing the colour and opacity.

I learned how to create shadows in Photoshop and how to use it more efficiently. I am very satisfied with my work its probably the best I could have made it. Im very glad that it turned out the way it did I was afraid that I might have to do something different instead of the whales.
